About the Program

Serendipity Therapeutic Riding Center is a 501(c) charity. We provide therapeutic horseback riding and agricultural education programs in Northeastern Pennsylvania. We have an amazing staff of employees, volunteers and of course horses that you can learn more about on our other pages.

Serendipity Therapeutic Horseback Riding Program is designed to assist individuals with special needs in finding increased independence through the help of our equine partners within the context of our working farm experience. We focus on each student’s unique and individual needs. We set goals and adapt a lesson program to achieve success and increased independence for each participant.

As a PATH International Center Member, we host PATH certified instructors, specially trained staff members and closely follow PATH International safety guidelines.

Serendipity TRP is dedicated to providing a safe, fun and friendly equine learning environment to all of our participants.  We strive to focus on each individual’s abilities and needs. With each lesson, our goal is always to provide each individual participant with a feeling of increased independence and confidence.

Our Misson

Serendipity Therapeutic Riding Center strives to positively impact the life skills and quality of life for individuals with special needs through therapeutic horseback riding activities and farm based education conducted in a safe and supportive environment.

What is Therapeutic Riding?

Horseback riding offers a unique experience for any individual. The movements that one experiences while on a horse encourage balance, flexibility, and strength development. In addition to the physical benefits,  being with horses provides social and outdoor recreational opportunities that help develop social and emotional skills.

Staff and Volunteers

As a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, we rely on our volunteers to get most of the grunt work done around the farm as well as help with riding lessons and animal care. We have a lot of trained, dedicated volunteers who come on a weekly basis to take care of our clients and horses but we could always use more!
